Why is my bread mixture sticking to the plates?

Answer: 

Ensure that you are buttering the outside of the bread; real butter produces the best results.

The plates must be wiped clean with a damp, soapy cloth after every toasting.

At the end of every day, use a nylon brush to clean all signs of grease off the plates and then wipe over with a damp cloth.

Why can’t I clean the plates satisfactorily?

Answer: 

Wipe the plates with a cloth wrung out in a bleach solution of 1 tablespoon or 20ml of household bleach to 1 pint/2 Litres of warm water. Wipe again with a clean wet cloth and remove ALL traces of bleach.
