Question:
The drawer is quite stiff. Should it be?
Answer:
Yes. We need to ensure that no air escapes the drawer durung the cooking process. You will find that the movement will free up somewhat through use.
Question:
There is a very strong smell after the intial preheat. Is that right?
Answer:
The air fryer does give off a “new product” smell to begin with. This goes away with use.
Question:
The air coming out of the back vents is very hot. Should it be that hot?
Answer:
The touch temperatures of the air fryer are well within approval standards. Consider that the air fryer is basically a small oven and the hot air has to go somewhere. The air at the exhaust vent is around 100C. This is why we say to leave a 20cm gap at the back and not to obstruct the vent.
Question:
The items in the Air Fryer are not cooked.
Answer:
1.The Air Fryer has been overloaded with food.
Put smaller batches of ingredients into the Crisper Tray. Smaller batches are fried more evenly.
2.The Crisper Tray and appliance have not been adequately preheated.
Always preheat the Crisper Tray and appliance for 3 minutes before inserting food.
3.The set temperature is too low. Adjust the settings to the required temperature setting (see section ‘Settings’ in Air Fryer Instruction Manual).
4.The cooking time is too short.
